
Sevabharati from Gudur town in Nellore district has bagged the Best Service Award this year for providing the best services to people at risk. The award was presented to Sevabharati representatives on the occasion of Republic Day by government officials and political leaders.

Sevabharati activists in Gudur, Nellore district, have been a boon to the people in many ways since the Corona First Wave.During the first wave lockdown, food parcels, medicine kits and essentials kits were widely distributed to the poor for months by Sevabharati. Sevabharati have set up a system that responds with just one phone call and delivers home needs to their doorstep for those who are struggling to get out of the house and buy essentials and medicines due to lockdown. Food parcels, drinking water, soaps, pastes and clothing were widely distributed to the migrant workers who were walking along the highway on a large scale during that period.

During the second wave of Covid, Seva Bharati activists cremated the bodies of those who died due to Covid (i.e., in a miserable situation where even their own relatives also could not come close to the dead bodies). And also they distributed infusion in old bus stand center, Potti Sriramulu Park, Gandhinagar, Malavya Nagar, Janakirampet in Gudur town for 2 months. Food parcels, drinking water and milk provided for passengers who stucked on Gudur High way in hundreds of vehicles and also in Gudur railway station due to heavy rains and floods.

For these memorable services Sevabharati representatives Shri Segu Prasadarao, Shri. Vignesh and Sri Mallikharjuna received Best Service Award Certificate by MLA Shri Velagapudi Varaprasadarao, Former Municipal Chairperson and Chairman of Swachchandrapradesh Committee Mrs. Ponaka Devasenamma, RDO Shri Muralikrishna, Municipal Commissioner Shri Shrikant and DSP Shri Rajagopal Reddy. Last year also, Sevabharati received the Best Service Award for their services in Corona First Wave.
