Senior RSS Pracharak Shri. MC Jayadev, 85 years, passed away in Sagar Hospitals Bengaluru on Monday morning 9am. MC Jayadev was suffering from old age illness since last few months.

The Antim Darshan to be held at 12.00 noon onwards Keshavakrupa, RSS State Headquarters in Bengaluru. Shraddhanjali Sabha to be held at 5.00pm at Keshavakrupa.

Karnataka Governor VR Vala, RSS Sahsarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Union Ministers Anant Kumar, DV Sadananda Gouda, RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj, Pujya Madara Chennayya Swamiji, Beli Matha Swamiji, Swamijis from various Mathas, Former Chief Minister BS Yedyurappa, Former Governor Justice Rtd Rama Jois, Senior RSS fucntionaries Su Ramanna, KS Nagaraj, Chandrashekshar Bhandari, Hundreds of Swayamsevaks, other prominent social workers visited Keshavakrupa, RSS State headquarters and paid tributes to the RSS veteran MC Jayadev.

A shraddhanjali Sabha was held at Keshavakrupa at 5.30pm in which Pujya Shivarudra Mahaswamiji of Beli Matha, RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj, Former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Rashtrotthana Parisht’s General Scretary Dinesh Hegde addressed.

The body has been taken to his hometown Mysuru. Antima Darshan will be held in his ancestral house at Ramanujam Road, Mysruru from morning 8.30am. Final rites to be held at Veerashaiva Rudrabhoomi at Vidyaranyapura of Mysuru at noon 1.30pm, tomorrow, Tuesday afternoon. Mysuru is the hometown of MC Jayadev.

Born in Mysuru on February 18, 1932 Mysuru Channabasappa Jayadev completed his graduation Commerce. Later he persued his Law Education. During his college days, he became an RSS Swayamsevak, later he turned as an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

In Bengaluru, he joined for reputed Hindustan Garage Motors as a Manager and worked for few Years.

In 1960, MC Jayadev became Bengaluru Mahanagar Karyavah of RSS, served till 1975, serving as one of the longest serving Mahanagar Karyavah of RSS Bengaluru unit.

MC Jayadev was jailed during anti-emergency movement in Novemner 1975. He was jailed in Basavanagudi in the First batch of the protest and was released on March 22, 1977 along with RSS Veteran Yadava Rao Joshi.

In 1965, MC Jayadev pioneered the institution ‘Rashtrotthana Parishat’, now a leading Service organisation of Karnataka. He was one of the founders of Rashtrotthana Parishat, served as General Manager from 1965 to 1995 for almost 31years. During his time, Rashtrotthana Parishat many new and innovative projects in the field of Education, Healthcare, Literature and Seva. The unique concept of Bharata-Bharati, a series of biography on nationalist social workers and other prominent personalities of various walks of life, was one of the breakthrough project from Rashtrotthana Parishat. Bharata Bharati Book series created a new record in the field of Kannada literature. He also groomed several young intellectuals during this period and supported them to express their nationalist views. Today, Rashtrotthana Parishat grown as one of the largest social organisation of the state. Rashtrotthana Blood Bank is the largest blood bank of Karnataka and Rashtrotthana Sahitya is one of the best publication house of the state.

Unmarried, very actively involved withRSS and several other social works, MC Jayadev became an RSS Pracharak in 1995. Since then Keshavakrupa was his headquarters.

MC Javadev was appointed as Sah-kshetreeya Pracharak in 2002. In 2004, he became Kshetreeya Pracharak heading the RSS activities of Karnataka and united Andhra Pradesh. In 2009, he was given the responsibility as Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini Sadasya or Member of Ectral executive of RSS. iN 2012 he was invited member of the central executive. Since March 2015, MC was guiding the organisation as a Senior Pracharak.

MC Jayadev supported various social organisations Vanavasi Kalyan Ashrama, an RSS forum for tribal welfare, and also various socio-academic institutions such as Mythic Society, Anatha Shishu Nivasa, Abalashrama, Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs and many others. Because of MC Jayadev’s able guidance, all these organisations and institutions are now economically independent and financially stable.

MC Jayadev was known for his high organisational skills. He connected deeply with several eminent personalities of several sectors such as Social Service, Education, Cinema, Politics, Business, Science, Healthcare, Literature etc.

RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat, RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, RSS Sahsarakaryavah’s Suresh Soni, Dattatreya Hosabale, Dr Krishna Gopal, V Bhagaiah, RSS senior functionaries Kajampady Subramanya Bhat, Mangesh Bhende, Mukunda CR, RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj and other functionaries expressed their deep condolences on demise of RSS Pracharak MC Jayadev.
