This happened when the civil authorities tried to demolish a 102 year old ancient Sitharamanjaneya Temple in Gadi Bavi Centre in Tenali on 24-01-2022. People who gathered there resisted this move very strongly. Unable to face the wrath of the public, authorities returned from the site.

This ancient temple has been recognized by the Endowment Department of Andhra Pradesh and orders to that effect were given in 2010. The Municipalities don’t have authority to remove the temples which are covered under the Endowment Act. But, the Tenali Municipal authorities tried to remove this ancient temple saying it is obstructing the traffic.

As this news spread, people of Tenali gathered there in large numbers and stopped the authorities who were trying to demolish the temple with the help of JCB machines. The devotees lay down on the road and challenged the authorities to run the machines over their bodies. The police tried to convince people to vacate the place. But after reading the GO copies issued in 2010, the police too told the authorities that they are not empowered to demolish the temple. Tenali public gave strong warning to authorities not to resort to such foolish acts in future anywhere in the town. They expressed a doubt that some key functionaries of Tenali Municipality are behind this heinous act.

తెనాలిలోని గాడి బావి సెంటర్లోని 102 సంవత్సరాల పైబడి చరిత్ర కలిగిన శ్రీ సీతారామాంజనేయస్వామి గుడిని తొలగించడానికి ప్రయత్నించిన ప్రభుత్వాధికారులకు ప్రజల నుంచి తీవ్ర నిరసన ఎదురైంది. ప్రభుత్వ అధికారులు ప్రజల ఆగ్రహానికి హడలిపోయి వెనుదిరిగి పోయిన ఘటన తెనాలి నగరంలో ఈరోజు 24/1/2022, సోమవారం చోటు చేసుకుంది.

తెనాలిలో 102 సంవత్సరాల నాటి ఆ శ్రీ సీతారామాంజనేయ స్వామి గుడికి ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ దేవాదాయ ధర్మాదాయ శాఖ గుర్తింపు కూడా ఉంది. ఆ మేరకు దేవాదాయ శాఖ 2010వ సంవత్సరంలో ఉత్తర్వులు కూడా ఇచ్చి ఉంది. నిజానికి దేవాదాయ ధర్మాదాయ శాఖ గుర్తింపు కలిగిన దేవాలయాలను తొలగించే అధికారం మున్సిపాలిటీలకు లేదు. అయినప్పటికీ రోడ్డుకు అడ్డంగా ఉన్నదనే నెపంతో దేవాలయాన్ని కూల్చి వేసే సాహసానికి తెనాలి మున్సిపల్ అధికారులు పూనుకున్నారు.

అధికారులు కూల్చడానికి యత్నించిన దేవాలయం

విషయం తెలిసిన హిందువులు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో గాడి బావి సెంటర్ కు చేరుకున్నారు. దేవాలయాన్ని కూల్చడానికి వచ్చిన అధికారులను అడ్డుకున్నారు. అధికారులు తమతో తీసుకువచ్చిన జెసిబి యంత్రాలను తమ మీదుగా నడిపించుకు వెళ్లి, తమ శవాలపై నుంచి వెళ్లి దేవాలయాన్ని కూల్చుకోండని చెబుతూ కొందరు భక్తులు దారికి అడ్డంగా పడుకున్నారు. సర్ది చెప్పటానికి ప్రయత్నించిన పోలీసులకు హిందూ సంస్థల ప్రతినిధులు కొందరు ఆ దేవాలయాన్ని గుర్తిస్తూ, 2010వ సంవత్సరంలో దేవాదాయ ధర్మాదాయ శాఖ ఇచ్చిన ఉత్తర్వుల ప్రతిని చూపించారు. దాంతో విషయాన్ని అర్థం చేసుకున్న పోలీసు వారు కూడా గుడి జోలికి రాకుండా అధికారులను నిరోధించారు. దేవాదాయ శాఖ గుర్తింపు ఉన్న దేవాలయం జోలికి వచ్చే అధికారం మునిసిపాలిటీకి ఉండదని అధికారులకు కూడా పోలీసు వారు తేల్చి చెప్పారు. దాంతో అధికారులు వెనుకంజ వేశారు. అప్పటి వరకూ ఆగ్రహంతో ఊగిపోయిన ప్రజలు కూడా అంతటితో శాంతించారు.

భవిష్యత్తులో ఎప్పుడైనా సరే ప్రభుత్వం గానీ, ఇతరులు ఎవరైనా గానీ తెనాలి నగరంలోని ఏ గుడి జోలికి వచ్చినా పరిస్థితి ఇంతకంటే తీవ్రంగా ఉంటుందని ఈ సందర్భంగా హిందువులు, హిందూ సంఘాల వారు హెచ్చరించారు. ఇప్పుడు శ్రీ సీతారామాంజనేయ స్వామి వారి దేవస్థానాన్ని కూల్చడానికి చేసిన ప్రయత్నాల వెనుక తెనాలి మున్సిపాలిటీలో కీలక స్థానాలలో ఉన్న కొందరు రాజకీయ నేతలు, అధికారుల పాత్ర ఉండి ఉండవచ్చని హిందూ సంఘాల వారు, ప్రజలు సందేహాలు వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
