]]> The National SC Commission has responded to a complaint that a large number of SCs and STs are converting as christians in Andhra Pradesh. Commission has issued notices to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh to inquire and report on religious conversions taking place in the state.The SC Commission ordered the chief secretary should be reported within 15 days on Complaints and allegations of religious conversions in Andhrapradesh state. Warned that chief secretary would have to appear in person before the commission if the report was not submitted by the deadline.The commission informed that also the commission will investigate on religious conversions in the state.

]]> The AP government has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe cases of attacks on temples and destruction of idols in the state.The government has issued orders appointing SIT will have 16members headed by ACB Additional Director GVG Ashok Kumar. Krishna district SP Ravindra Babu and others were given a place in the team. The government has directed a special investigation team to probe cases on vandalism of idols since September 20 last year and also to seek the co-operation of the forensic, CID and cyber crime departments.

On the other hand, it is learned that the government has already ordered a CID investigation led by Additional DG Sunil Kumar is ongoing on the incident of Vijayanagaram district’s Ramathiratham temple.

]]> It is well known that the attacks on temples in AP are causing a great deal of controversy. Even as the investigation on Ramathirtha incident is going on, another such ghastly incident took place, this time in Kadapa district. Till now we witnessed only destruction of idols. Now the goons went a step ahead and lifted the idol of Lord Ganesh from a temple at Chagarevu village of Velma Mandal in Kadapa District.

The idol of Vinayaka was stolen by thugs on Thursday night in Chagarevu village of Vemula mandal in Kadapa district. Locals who noticed the incident on Friday morning immediately informed the police. With information from locals, SI Sanjeevareddy reached the spot and inspected the temple premises. Footage of CCTV cameras in the area was examined. The SI said that a case has been registered and investigation is on.
